Grow-A-Row Program Launches This Season

As those of you who have met us realize, community contribution and personal empowerment are key components to our mission at Grateful Plains.

Last year, we donated our ‘overage’ from the farm to local food pantries and over the past two years, several area families have received our produce boxes in 2013 and 2014 when Pending Boxes have been purchased by our patrons through our winter box program through commercial distributors.

Now that we are primarily growing our own veggies and herbs, we are happy to announce our Grow-A-Row program that allows us to provide food for families who seek a ‘pending share’ during the growing season. The Grow-A-Row project allows you an opportunity to contribute to underwrite the cost of growing a vegetable and herb crop share that is gifted to local families who would not otherwise be able to afford fresh produce for their family (low-income –or– sudden financial hardship due to health-related emergency). Our goal is to reserve one Full Share ($830) for a specific family this season.  To contribute to our Grow-A-Row project, please send your donation to us at PO Box 283, Grand Ridge IL (preferred method) or use paypal by using our online shopping cart (incurs 3% surcharge we work hard at avoiding!!)

Families may inquire about ‘Pending Shares’ through our Grow-A-Row Project anytime by contacting Grateful Plains at (815) 249-5134 or sending an email inquiry to info at (use at symbol in email address) describing your medical or financial hardship. All emails are confidential and read only by Holly.
